New ambient sound effect suggested by Maggot4ever. This is already added into the ambiance soundscape of MISERY 2.0. Maybe we can expand on this conspiracy theory for some future version. But for now the MISERY team is glad to announce that the legendary and unpleasant signal of the Chernobyl OTH radar will be crawling you spine on frequent basis wherever you may hide in the Zone.Woodpecker

Something about a-life

Poll has now closed with majority of people voting for 'something about a-life'. Here's your result: PROPS added to the environment MISERY 2.0 has delicate updates to a-life environment. Props that are added here and there to make the Zone feel more alive and give new reason for an exploration with your eyes open wide. Like this boar roast here, worthy of a mentioning. This 'environmental prop' has been added not only for a breath of fresh air to a-life for the experienced players. But you are actually able to cut your own boar meat off from it. Experienced CoP players will notice that we did add other environmental props like this although somewhat smaller in size. Not whole camp sites or abandoned vehicles but simple and small items that could easily be overlooked if you sprint through the game. Several of them are even somewhat interactive and may prove beneficial for your Zone agenda. So pay attention to your surroundings and adapt to the true essence of a Stalker Zone survival. And did we mention that most light bulps can now be destroyed with gun shots?Something about a-life

Although we don't do this mod for the sake of popularity, reviews or any economic gain we feel greatly motivated by the fact that ModDB staff chooses to reward our work and development with such prestigious award. The Wally trophy broke his legs on his travel across the earth which may be symbolic to the haters of this mod. But we feel honoured and hugely motivated by the extreme amount of support that we receive on a daily basis. This trophy credits EVERYONE who has supported the MISERY mod. Be it motivational comments, tips and ideas, research, beta testing, feedback, sub-mods or actual development participation - this trophy is for you! Realism: UI overhaul

For MISERY 2.0 we did a complete overhaul of units and measurements to correspond with real life mechanics and terms. We did this for all items, gear physiology and biology mechanics. Exploration: Location edits and new items

Trojanuch has implemented his MSO mod into MISERY 1.1 a long time ago. These last six months he's been constantly expanding its potential and content to have it form the most interesting a-life scenario ever in a Stalker mod. This upload reveals some of the details of its aim and focus. All the new items are fully conceptualized with carefully designed 3D models (meshes) and textures. A team effort between all members of the MISERY dev team. Concept artwork 'Lone Bandit scouting' by N.AaroeExploration: Location edits and new items

Something about weapons

Here's an example of what the "New Ordnance" submod does to the arsenal of MISERY 2.0. It brings an incredible amount of diversity to most vanilla weapons but also some of those that were added to MISERY 1.1. As portrayed here a SIG-550 is no longer just a SIG-550. Now this weapon can be found in a neglected, modern, standard and customized profile. Each profile having its own unique characteristics and attributes. Especially the sniper profile which is practically a whole new weapon that puts it in the sniper rifle category. Weapon profiles vary in weight, trading value, availability, reliability, upgrade schematics etc. 'New' guns degrade slower but have higher chance of jamming if they get low condition. 'Worn' guns degrade faster but will not jam that much despite low condition as mechanical parts are adjusted to work with each other. Old, worn, rusty and neglected profiles even have their own benefits as with economy being the most significant as they are up to 50% cheaper than standard issue versions. They are also far cheaper to maintain. Watch the New Ordnance trailer here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-misery/videos/new-ordnance-trailer#imagebox 'New Ordnance' (with _xXxTWiST3DxXx_ as original author) has ceased development as a standalone mod. But the MISERY dev team has brought it to life - and with the release of MISERY 2.0 you will have the full fleshed version of "New Ordnance" featured. Something about weapons

You can loot skins/hides/pelts from most mutants. You can even trade these among other Stalkers. Crows are now also lootable. See earlier upload about the Mutant Hunting submod here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-misery/images/mutant-hunting-mod#imagebox Diversity of 'parts/items' that you can acquire through mutant hunting counts a dozen of various meat chunks, a dozen of hides and another dozen of special parts like hands and legs.Hunting (part 2)

Now you are able to use mutant hides, pelts and skins as armor enhancements for your protection. USS Assaulter class has the highest endurance attributes and should be chosen if you want to pursue high risk melee combat scenarios. Equipment Handling (part 2)

MANUAL REPAIR OF WEAPONRY AND ARMORS Started with the task of re-implementiong singular Repair Kit item known in many mods and has evolved into a system of: - 25+ repair tools - 50+ items usable for repair as materials or effectivity enhancers - 500+ unique and intuitive combinations between them All those items are scattered around the gameworld in every possible way which allows for improvised / makeshift repairs of equipment in the field. This is especially important for armors as they degrade in logarytmic way - making damaged armor pieces attain additional damage at increasingly faster rate. This creates a notion of keeping armor pieces in constantly upper levels of condition. Concept lore and background: http://media.moddb.com/images/groups/1/8/7693/ignore.jpgEquipment Handling (part 2)

Bringing death

Monolith can commit suicide if defeated. From Stalker lore/wiki: "The Monolith stalker clan is a xenophobic religious cult, hostile to all but their own, that is a major part of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat and appears in a supporting role in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky. A religious cult that is hostile to all but their own, the Monolithians believe in the power of the Wish Granter, rumored to be an alien artifact hidden in the center of the Zone. Members of this faction devote their lives to protecting the secret of the Great Crystal, ensuring that no one ever reaches the center of the Zone. A typical Monolithian is a former stalker brainwashed by one of the psychic emitters throughout the Zone into serving the will of the C-Consciousness, unflinchingly loyal and ready to sacrifice himself at a moment's notice. This extreme loyalty is achieved by creating intense religious fanatism in the mind of the stalker, directed towards the Monolith. While physically, they are on par with other stalkers, their religious fervor sets them apart and allows them to ignore wounds and continue to fight, even after they run out of ammo. Stories abound of fanatical Monolith Stalkers, after running out of ammo, ditch their weapons and attempt to kill the enemy with their bare hands, no matter how grievous their wounds. This same fervor also prevents others from capturing a Monolith member – if taken into custody, he will commit suicide in any way possible (even by smashing his head against the wall)." Hey guys, LoNer1 here, the designated PR Head of the MISERY dev team. Here are some crisp new teasers on the page design the mastermind Erayser* and I have been working on. Phoenix Interactive* offered their knowledge in HTML and together we've made drastic changes, fixes and improvements over ModDB's CSS and HTML. I want to thank everyone for applying and trying to help out, but we've managed to do most of it already, so further help will not be needed. You may remember us asking for assistance on the front page regarding the creation of an exe installer for upcoming MISERY 2.0. ponney68 (his profile: http://www.moddb.com/members/ponney68) answered to our prayers and he succeeded on the exe design with a patched Stalker_COP exe file included for 3GB RAM enabling (also for Steam). So this matter is solved now, all thanks to ponney68/Yuya!
